CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

Monthly construction updates from The Collective East, a seven-building commercial flex campus under construction at 7000 Johnny Morris Road in East Austin. The photo gallery below runs newest to oldest. Suite sizes and floor plans are on the Spaces page.

OCTOBER 2026

Building 1 & 2 concrete floors are poured and finished on the ground level and mezzanines, and insulation lines the interior walls and ceilings. Outside, the remaining openings are wrapped in weather barrier as the shells close in. Schedule a tour now!

Dark metal siding and storefront glass are now on the first buildings along Johnny Morris Road, and wall sheathing is going up on the next. The shells are closing in ahead of Buildings 1–3 delivering in Q4 2026 / Q1 2027. Schedule a tour to walk the shells while the layouts are still open.

SEPTEMBER 2026

Framing and roof panels are in place along Johnny Morris Road. With the roofs on, the 14- to 20-foot clear height inside each shell is visible for the first time.

AUGUST 2026

Roofing crews set metal panels on Building 1 & 2 and a new slab was poured.

JULY 2026

The first foundation slab was finished at the start of July on the graded nine-acre site. Steel columns went up, and the first roof panels were set. The gabled steel frames are what give the Phase 1 suites their 16- to 20-foot ceilings and room for a 12-foot mezzanine.

APRIL 2026

Sparkroot Development, ECR, and the project team broke ground on The Collective East. 152,000 square feet across seven buildings on nine acres, next to Colony Park and the Walnut Creek Hike & Bike Trail. See the Location page for the corridor.
